Your choices
Cookie policy.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser technologies used on the Kindee website. Read it alongside our Privacy policy, which explains who is responsible for your data, our service providers and your rights.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a browser and sent with certain requests. Local storage and session storage also keep information in your browser, but they are not automatically sent with every request. We include these similar technologies in this Cookie policy.
Kindee uses local storage for your privacy choice. With your analytics consent, we also use local storage for a landing-page test assignment and session storage for analytics and campaign information. Our PostHog integration uses direct requests rather than the PostHog browser SDK, so it does not create PostHog SDK cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, session recordings or automatic capture of page interactions.
2. Necessary preference storage
Your analytics choice
- Browser entry:
kindee:analytics-consent:v1. - Type: local storage, set by this website when you accept or reject analytics.
- Purpose: remembers your accepted or rejected choice, its version and its expiry so we can respect your preference. It is not used for advertising or campaign measurement.
- Lifetime: your choice is valid for up to 180 days from the most recent choice. The site disregards an expired choice and asks again. You can remove the entry sooner in your browser settings.
This preference is necessary to remember the choice you request. Rejecting analytics does not remove it; the website needs to remember your rejection too.
3. Optional analytics storage
The following entries are created only after you accept analytics. They support measurement through PostHog and are set by this website.
Analytics session
- Browser entry:
kindee:analytics-session:v1. - Type: session storage.
- Purpose: stores a randomly generated identifier and expiry time so that events during the same session can be related. It does not contain your email address or form answers.
- Lifetime: used for up to 24 hours or the browser tab’s session, whichever ends first. An expired identifier is replaced if analytics remains accepted.
Campaign information
- Browser entry:
kindee:campaign:v1. - Type: session storage.
- Purpose: stores the first and most recent campaign labels from your visit, plus an expiry time, to help us understand which campaigns bring people to Kindee.
- Lifetime: used for up to 24 hours or the browser tab’s session, whichever ends first. An expired record is disregarded and removed when checked by the site.
Campaign labels come from the source, medium, campaign, content, term and ID parameters in campaign links, often called UTM parameters. Before analytics consent, these labels may be held temporarily in the open page and carried between relevant Kindee links. They are not stored in browser storage or sent to PostHog before consent.
Landing-page experiment
- Browser entry:
kindee:landing-experiment:v1. - Type: local storage.
- Purpose: remembers the test identifier, assigned layout, a random participant identifier and expiry time. This keeps the same layout on return visits and lets us compare the proportion of participants who complete a signup in each version.
- Lifetime: up to 30 days, without extending the expiry on return visits. An expired assignment is removed when checked by the site. Rejecting analytics or withdrawing consent removes it sooner.
The campaign entry page gives each new visitor an equal chance of seeing either layout. Before analytics consent, the assignment stays only in the open page’s memory: it is not saved in browser storage, and no experiment events are sent to PostHog. If you do not accept analytics, we cannot remember that assignment across visits.
With your analytics consent, campaign labels can also accompany a signup you submit through Forminit. Rejecting analytics does not prevent signup. Browser-storage expiry does not delete submissions or analytics events already received by a provider; their retention is explained in our Privacy policy.
4. What our service providers receive
With your consent, PostHog receives selected page, button, menu, FAQ and form-outcome events, a random session identifier and campaign labels. Events can also record the website version and which illustrative image you see; the image choice stays in page memory and uses no additional browser storage. For the landing-page test, events also record which layout you see, the test identifier and a random participant identifier. We do not send email addresses, form answers, raw query strings or advertising click IDs to PostHog. As with other network services, PostHog receives technical connection information that can include your IP address. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.
When you submit a signup form, Forminit receives the form and consent details described in our Privacy policy. The signup request does not include cookie credentials or the analytics session identifier. Forminit’s handling of submissions is explained in its Privacy Policy.
GitHub Pages hosts the website and receives technical information needed to serve and secure it. Rejecting analytics does not prevent the hosting requests needed to load a page. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
5. Manage or withdraw your consent
Choose Accept analytics or Reject analytics in Cookie settings. Closing the settings without choosing does not give consent. Use the button below or Cookie settings in any page’s footer to review or change your choice.
Rejecting analytics or withdrawing consent stops future analytics requests, clears this site’s campaign and analytics session entries from the current tab, and removes the saved landing-page test assignment from local storage. The saved privacy preference remains so that we can respect your rejection. Other open Kindee tabs apply the changed preference when they receive the browser’s storage notification.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal, and it does not automatically delete events already received by PostHog. Your data rights and how to request deletion are explained in our Privacy policy.
You can also clear or block this site’s storage through your browser settings. Clearing storage removes your saved preference, so we may ask again on your next visit. If browser storage is blocked, the site can apply your choice in the open page but may not remember it after a reload. Browsers that restore closed tabs may restore session storage; the website still checks the 24-hour expiry before using a record.
